Elevate your henna stain to a rich, vibrant finish by following our aftercare instructions.
Jagua Gel Aftercare
Wash off your design with soapy water. When washed off, your stain will be invisible or faint at first, then, over the next 24-48 hours, your stain will develop into a deep blue or black colour.
Use water and any bath soap or handwash of your choice.
Do not scrub your Jagua gel design and your skin for the first 48 hours.
Exfoliating your skin after your jagua gel design has stained weakens your stain rapidly.
Leave your design on for at least 4 hours.
The longer you keep it on, the darker the stain.
Keep your skin (where your Jagua gel design is) moisturised with cream.
Avoid sleeping with your design on if you move a lot in your sleep. Wash it before you sleep. If you do not move as much in sleep, you can sleep with it on, so it stays on your skin for a longer duration. However, this is at your own discretion.
Natural henna aftercare:
Do not wash your design off with water; this weakens your stain.
Remove your henna design with a natural oil such as Mustard seed oil, coconut oil, or almond oil.
Use either a spoon or the soft edges of a knife to scrape off your design.
Keep warm for a darker henna stain, e.g., use a hot water bottle or put the heater on to keep yourself warm.
Steam your hands with whole cloves either whilst your henna design is on or once you’ve removed it.
Leave your design on for at least 8 hours.
The longer you keep it on, the darker the stain!
When showering, apply Vaseline or Vicks VapoRub.
This acts as a repellent from the water, protecting your stain & darkening your stain too.
